The timber of this tree is a rich source of resin. BARK Dark red to brown, resinous, thick, scaly, fissured. LEAF Needles, in bundles of three, 8–12 in (20–30 cm) long. FLOWER Males and females on same plant. FRUIT Elongated cones, 4–8 in (10–20 cm) long.
